What are the types of Atlas vacuum pumps (including three classification methods)

An Atlas vacuum pump is a device that sucks gas out of the equipment so that the pressure inside the equipment is lower than one atmosphere. In fact, an Atlas vacuum pump is a gas delivery machine that transports gas from an environment below one atmosphere pressure to an atmosphere at or at the same pressure as the atmosphere. So there are many types of Atlas vacuum pumps, let's talk about them in detail.

What types of Atlas vacuum pumps are there?

(1) Classification by Atlas vacuum pump structure

a. Mechanical. This type of vacuum pump is similar to a compressor. There are reciprocating and rotary structures that belong to the positive displacement type, and turbomolecular pumps that belong to the power type. They all belong to the extraction type vacuum pump.

b. Jet pump. There are two methods of jet pump and dispersion pump, as well as a booster pump that combines the two, which are also classified as extraction vacuum pumps.

c, suction type. Relying on physical or chemical methods to make gas molecules adsorb on the surface of the pump wall, it belongs to the trapping vacuum pump.

(2) Classification according to the working principle of the Atlas vacuum pump

a. Extraction type, the vacuum pump sucks the gas in the system and discharges the gas molecules out of the system.

b. Capture type. The vacuum pump captures the gas molecules in the system, which are directly adsorbed on the working wall of the pump without being discharged from the system.

(3) Classification according to the working function of the Atlas vacuum pump in the system

a. The main air pump. The primary working pump to achieve the required pressure.

b. Pre-extraction pump. When the main air pump cannot be directly and initially pumped in the atmospheric state, the pre-suction pump needs to be pumped to a certain pressure before the main air pump can enter the operation.

c. Foreline pump. When the main air pump cannot directly discharge the pumped gas into the atmosphere, it needs to be discharged in series with the fore pump.

d. Stick to the pump. When the main suction pump stops working at the required pressure, the pressure may rise due to system leakage or surface evaporation, so the suction pump is used to continue suction.
