How to maintain and protect the components of Atlas air compressor


In order to make the Atlas air compressor work normally and reliably and ensure the service life of the unit, it is necessary to formulate a detailed protection plan, carry out scheduled operation, punctual protection, and punctual inspection and maintenance, so as to make the Atlas air compressor work. The unit is kept clean, free of oil and dirt. The maintenance and protection of the main components are carried out according to the following points:


A. When repairing and replacing parts according to the above table, it is necessary to confirm: the pressure in the Atlas air compressor system has been released, isolated from other pressure sources, the switch on the main circuit has been disconnected, and the Safety sign prohibiting closing.

b. The replacement time of the compressor cooling lubricating oil depends on the operating environment, humidity, dust and whether there is acid or alkaline gas in the air. The newly purchased Atlas air compressor must be replaced with new oil for the first 500 hours of operation, and then every 4,000 hours according to the normal oil change cycle. Machines that lack 4,000 hours of annual operation should be replaced once a year.

c. The oil filter needs to be replaced 300-500 hours after the first start-up operation, 2000 hours after the second operation, and every 2000 hours after the normal time.

D. When repairing and replacing the air filter or intake valve, remember to prevent any debris from falling into the compressor main body cavity. When operating, close the inlet of the main unit. After the operation is completed, you need to rotate the main unit several times by hand in the rolling direction of the main unit to confirm that there is no obstruction before turning it on.

E. The tightness of the belt must be checked every 2000 hours of operation of the machine. If the belt is loose, it must be adjusted until the belt tension is stopped; in order to protect the belt, it is necessary to prevent the belt from being scrapped due to oil pollution during the whole process.

F. Every time the oil is changed, the oil filter must be replaced at the same time.


Cleaning the cooler of an Atlas air compressor


Every 2000 hours of operation of the Atlas air compressor, in order to remove the dust on the heat dissipation surface, it is necessary to open the cooler blowing hole cover on the fan bracket, and use a dust blowing air gun to blow the cooler until the dust on the heat dissipation surface is blown. clean. If the dust on the heat dissipation surface is severe and difficult to clean, remove the cooler, pour out the oil in the cooler and close the four inlets and outlets to prevent the entry of dirt, and then use compressed air to blow off the dust on both sides or use water. Rinse and finally blow dry the surface. Put it back in place. Remember! Do not scrape the dirt with hard objects such as iron brushes, so as not to damage the surface of the radiator.


Draining Atlas Air Compressor Condensate


Moisture in the air may condense in the oil and gas separation tank, especially in humid climates, when the exhaust temperature is lower than the pressure dew point of the air or when the machine is shut down for cooling, more condensed water will come out. Excessive water content in the oil will cause the emulsification of the lubricating oil and affect the safe operation of the machine, such as: the main engine of the compressor is not smooth; the separation effect of oil and gas becomes poor, and the pressure difference of the oil and gas separator increases; it causes corrosion of the parts. Therefore, a condensate discharge schedule should be established based on humidity conditions.


Condensate discharge method: It should be carried out after the machine is shut down, there is no pressure in the oil and gas separation tank, sufficient cooling, and sufficient deposition of condensate, such as before starting the machine in the morning.


① Unscrew the front screw plug of the ball valve at the bottom of the oil and gas separation tank.

②Slowly open the ball valve to drain until oil flows out, then close the ball valve.

③ Screw on the front plug of the ball valve.


Safety Valves for Atlas Air Compressors


The safety valve has been adjusted before the whole machine leaves the factory, and we do not initiate users to adjust the safety valve without permission. If it is necessary to adjust, it should be carried out under the guidance of professional repair personnel.


Protection work: For general users, provide some compressor protection suggestions, users can refer to the implementation.


① Weekly: a. Check whether the unit has abnormal movement and leakage; b. Check whether the surface reading is correct; c. Check whether the temperature display is normal.

②Monthly: a. Check whether there is rust or looseness in the machine. If there is rust, remove the rust and apply oil or paint, and tighten the looseness; b. Drain the condensed water.

③Every three months: a. Remove the dust on the surface of the cooler and the fan cover and fan blades; b. Add lubricating oil to the motor bearings; c. Check whether the hose is aging or cracked; d. Check the electrical appliances components, clean the electrical control box.


Atlas air compressor oil


In the working state, the oil level of the compressor should be kept between the lowest and the highest oil level. Too much oil will affect the separation effect, and too little oil will affect the smoothness and cooling function of the machine. During the oil change interval, if the oil level is lower than the minimum oil level The oil level should make up for the lubricating oil in time by:


① When the internal pressure is released when the machine is shut down (make sure the system has no pressure), pull down the main power switch.

②Open the oil filling port on the oil and gas separation tank to make up an appropriate amount of cooling lubricating oil.
